| Acceptable System |
- Access floor system shall be Eleva access flooring. Alternative products shall meet or exceed design criteria.
|
| |
| Floor Panels |
- Access floor system comprises of modular floor panels of 600mm X 600mm X 34mm thick.
- Panels are welded steel components with an enclosed bottom pan formed by a uniform pattern of domes and filled with lightweight cement material to improve acoustical and dynamic load performances.
- The rigid structural panels are to be fabricated to tolerances of +/-0.25mm on squareness and 0.75mm on flatness measured diagonally across the top of the panel.
- The difference in height between adjacent panels should not exceed 0.75mm before any application of load.
- The floor panels shall be easily removable by one person using manufacturer's approved list of panel lifters and shall be interchangeable except where cut.
- The floor panels are to be protected against corrosion internally with a phosphate coating and externally with an electrostatically applied powder coating. This coating is to be baked to fuse the powder to steel surfaces.
- Panels without coverings need to provide zero indices for ignition, spread of flame, heat and smoke.
- Chipboards, particle boards and any other combustible panels are not acceptable.

|
| Panel Finishes |
- For general office areas, the panels are to be bare, with carpet tiles to be supplied by others.
- For computer rooms, panels should include anti-static high pressure laminates (HPL) and to be protected from the sides with vinyl edge trims and joint of trims shall be mitred.

| Pedestal Assemblies |
- Pedestal assemblies should consist of head and base assembly components made from steel, welded during construction and protected from rust and corrosion.
- The assembly must provide levelling in increments of 0.3mm and overall vertical height adjustment of +/-0.25mm.
- Pedestal assembly should incorporate levelling and gravity activated locking devices to ensure that elevation is not lost during rotation of the pedestal head.
- Pedestals, when secured to the sub-floor with manufacturer's approved adhesives, should be capable of accepting an axial load of 5kN.
|
| |
Stringers |
- Stringers should be fabricated of galvanised steel capable of supporting a 204kg load applied through a 25mm square indenture at the centre of its unsupported span and designed to interlock the pedestal head to form a modular grid.
- Stringers to be fastened to the pedestal assembly by means of bolting with Philip head M6 screws in Electrode Zinc plating finish or with a snap-on method.

| System Performances |
- Ultimate load on the floor system should be 3 times the design load capacity without failure, i.e. without the floor collapsing.
- Unless otherwise specified, performance of the access flooring system should comply fully with standards in the following specification - 'MOB PF2 - Platform Floors (Raised Access Floors) Performance Specification'. This specification originated from Property Services Agency (PSA) Specialist Services, England.
For Medium Grade
- The Medium Grade Panel (FS800) should be capable of accepting a concentrated load of 3.6kN over an area of 25mm2 at any location on the floor, with a maximum deflection of 2.40mm. Permanent set shall not exceed 0.5mm.
- The Medium Grade Panel (FS800) should be capable of accepting a concentrated load of 8.0kN / m2, with a maximum deflection of 2.00mm. Permanent set shall not exceed 0.5mm.
For Heavy Grade
- The Heavy Grade Panel (FS1000) should be capable of accepting a concentrated load of 4.5kN over an area of 25mm2 at any location on the floor, with a maximum deflection of 2.40mm. Permanent set shall not exceed 0.5mm.
- The Heavy Grade Panel (FS1000) should be capable of accepting a concentrated load of 12.0kN / m2, with a maximum deflection of 2.00mm. Permanent set shall not exceed 0.5mm.
For Extra Heavy Grade
- The Extra Heavy Grade Panel (FS1250) should be capable of accepting a concentrated load of 5.5kN over an area of 25mm2 at any location on the floor, with a maximum deflection of 2.40mm. Permanent set shall not exceed 0.5mm.
- The Extra Heavy Grade Panel (FS1250) should be capable of accepting a concentrated load of 15.0kN / m2, with a maximum deflection of 2.00mm. Permanent set shall not exceed 0.5mm.
